iRaiden Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Until recently i have had an Audioque 1200 pushing my RD Sonance About 8 months ago, my Audioque quit working on me. It goes into protect every time a sub is plugged into it. So, now I've saved up enough money to get a new amp. I've pretty much decided on the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D What I'm curious to know now is if you think my sub will be able to handle that amp. Please give me your suggestions. Thanks guys. Quote

Lbox88 Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 I would stay away from the Hifonics. I have the BRZ 2400.1D right now and I'm not all to happy with it. Basically tripled the rated power from my old ass class AB and there was nearly no audible difference, car just seems to shake a little more violently. Just my $0.02. Quote UBL | Build Log

It didn't just stop playing mid-song. It was working fine one day. Wouldn't the next. Really odd. I opened it up and don't see anything burnt or out of the ordinary. The amp was about 2-3 years old though, don't really know what happened. It had been finicky all its life though, even before I got it. What would you recommend Lbox? Price range is ~$230 what do you mean finicky? and what do you mean by Lbox? Finicky as in it sometimes just wouldn't work when I turned on my car. I would rewire it and then it worked fine. Lbox is the other person that posted on this thread, I wanted his opinion. Quote

Little loss in rated power but probably closer to being true to work. DB Drive PD2000.1 - Heard mixed reviews on this one, supposedly rated at 12V instead of 14.4V, being current hungry but underrated. Check out what I've read HERE, HERE, and HERE. IDK though just from my personal experience if you can wait and save up the money, I'd check out trying another 1200 or send it in to be repaired or check into DC or Crescendo or one of the other various serious brands. I've wasted so much money trying to save a few bucks and being burned by cheaper equipment that I am fed up and my next build will end up being an expensive one due to my equipment choices. The Quart looks nice, but I don't think my sub can handle 2k. Quote
