Speaker Issue Help

Here is some info.

I have front and rear speakers.

4 channel infinity reference 475a

The right side of my truck is wired with Rockford Fosgate wire..

The left side is wired with Stinger wire... (both are proper size, last time I checked, unless I am blind)

2001 f150 super crew

The story:

I ended up blowing my entire right side door speakers, but not my left side when I forgot to turn on the HP filter after resetting the gains. So I went to replace the front speakers and moved the unblown speakers to the rear and did so properly. (I still am not sure why the ONE side blew and not all)

So, I test my speakers...and it sounded like the right side front seemed louder and more detailed that the left from my listening position (mind you this is the side that blew). So I decided to listen to the rear speakers. They sound roughly even, but the right seemed SLIGHTLY louder, otherwise pretty even yet still not totally even. Right still seemed a little louder. I went back to the front listening position, and it still seemed that the right side was louder than the left. I don't know how I noticed this before.

So this was my troubleshooting:

-RCA swap ; right side was still louder so its not my headunit inputs

-Speaker wire swap at the amp (moved to other channels); problem didn't move to the other side.

-Reset gains, VERY slight change, but not really considering the front speakers are on one channel for gain setting.

My only other idea would be to play a tone and check voltage on the outputs or that the speaker wire is playing a difference.

Otherwise, I have no idea what to do next.

Can speaker wire although the same size, change sound quality?

And on a second note, maybe its a phasing issue or just my vehicles acoustics. (I can't remember how my speakers were before)

My front left speaker is way more cut off/blocked due to the door panel design and more tucked away in my truck versus the front right speaker which is wide open. I lowered my head down near the floor in the center of my truck and it definitely seemed more balanced.

I dont know if I am overthinking this but from my listening/drivers position, its highly noticeable. I cannot recall what the speakers were like before I replaced the speakers because I took a while to replace them and get them ordered.

I am still confused why the entire right side as well blew and not the left. Interesting.

If it comes down to it, I might just rewire both sides to the same wire...maybe upgrade my highs amp while I am at it.

ANY help or ideas would be appreciated!

*BTW* if you are wondering how I set gains, it was with a DD-1. They are set PERFECT.

Switch speaker wires from one side to the other at the amp and see if your having an amp issue or pinched speaker wire issue. If everything sounds as if nothing has changed in sound quality than you have something else going on but if the change happens with changing the wiring then you have a better idea of whats wrong.

forgot to mention that there is sound deadener behind the speakers which has helped my midbass..would that change tweeter properties if one side is slightly differently applied than the other?

I ran into this problem also after placing deadener on the doors, i got 25sq ft and used 1 layer on the outer door skin and 2 layers on the inner door skin and 1 layer on the door panel. Afterwards i realized i had a tremendous amount of midbass but a total lack of vocals due to the layer of deadener on the outer door skin and killing any chance for the sound bounce around inside. So now i have to figure a way of removing the outer door skin layer without cutting through the 2 layers of the inner door skin deadener. I don't think you lost out on tweeter volume as much as a loss of vocals like me if you placed deadener on the outer door skin, guess it's one of those live and learn things.

But I guess that makes sense? That's the most major change I made besides replacing speakers.

Its unfortunate though because it helped with my midbass and vibration issues mostly.
