david in germany Posted November 18, 2011 Report Share Posted November 18, 2011 My shepherd LOVES the scraps that i cooked up for her lol... so NOTHING from the deer really went My brother always said never give the liver to the dogs.....any truth to that? The deer is being turned into Brisket,Roast,Jerky and Steak.... As far as the liver thing there is nothing wrong with givign a dog deer parts as long as they are thoroughly cooked... That information came from my g/f who is a liscensed Vet. Technician From what I have heard (may be completely false) Vets get about 2 hours the entire time they are in school about animal nutrition and normally is is sponsored by Iams or Sceince diet. Reat up on the B.A.R.F. Diet. want a healthy pet, feed them raw foods. Vet told me my Golden Retriever had about 6 months to live, I changed his diet to B.A.R.F. and had him for an additional 6 wonderful years. You are correct though Most Vet Techs have like 8hrs of total nutritional training... The Science diet and Iams guys are not doing it.. Science diet RD (for heavier dogs) is 90% peanut shells. the rest is added flavors and the poor dogs are starved for nutrition.
