Looking around I saw its possible to buy recone kits but i don't know how to measure the voice coil to get exact specs. But when i opened it up it seems the problem was that the motor moved. STEvil Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 You can build a jig to reposition the motor (or get a machine shop to build one) or have someone with a large vise do it. Just make sure you have the magnets protected so they dont get cracked when you're using the jaws to force the magnets around. You could also build a band-clamp that will help reposition the magnets. Works somewhat like an oil-filter wrench but more heavy duty and use wrenches or sockets to tighten it up.. Or, if your local college/university have a science lab they might be able to discharge then recharge the magnets so you can do it without a ton of force.. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it.
