miniSPLlancer Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) different subs require different space specs, can't really just throw any size box out there without knowing the sub, that would help a lot. miniSPLlancer Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Well you have plenty of power from amps, hoPefully you have the electrical to back it up, if so, instead of guessing on a box size, like I have, there's a couple of ways you can go about this. If you're looking just for a daily pounding setup, build it around 2.2-2.5ft3 per sub If you're looking for it to meter well, ie competition, then start the box at 5ft3 and add wood to it until you find what size of box the subs like. Tuning to 34hz will definitely be a low hitter. Remember, if you build a box that is too big, you can always cut it down, especially since you're going with aero ports. The sad part is, every car is different and subs sound different in different sizes. But I would start at 5ft3 and go from there. Good luck with the build man Quote 2011 Mitsubishi OutlanderSony 712 Soundqubed HDS208 Alpine MRV-M500 Transmission line enclosure Soundqubed wiring Knu rca XS Power battery CNF terminals
__d_a_v_i_d__ Posted November 19, 2011 Author Report Posted November 19, 2011 Yeah I already ran the 6k before, only dropped to 13.6 full tilt. And I only metered my 2 10" subs with 1 3k, box was tune to 34hz, 6" aero. Doing 144s daily . . So want to keep everything on a larger extend.. Ofcourse I want lows, and loud . So sticking to that, doubt I'll ever tune any of my boxes pass 37. I have a box right now, kerf 2.5 cubes per, tune to 30 hz. Imma try that first to break them in, We'll see what happens .... Anyone else ? Quote Chevy Impala Shocker Sigs / TC Sounds 12s Sundown NS-1 | SAX 100.4 Sundown Neos | Dayton Audio Neos ETCCC ETCCC ETCCC My YouTube ---- Subcribe!!

Let me see if I can find on local forum. I believe he did 147's but I think his impala was 01 maybe. Anyway to david I run mid 40s with subs and port back because my backseats don't fold down. If your seats fold down I'd suggest sealing off and facing forward. I've heard good things about subs forward and port to the driver side if you seal at the back of the box, but I've never experimented myself. Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth. A router that does the sub holes makes rounded edges also?
