2 HDC3 12's 4.4ft3 net with 2 6" aero ports instead of a slot port? Would 1 be better, is 2 O.K.? I don't have any experience with aero ports, I'm a slot port guy but trying to save some space by using aero's. Will be tuned to 37hz

Wait for Fish Chris or Fecupe to chime in on this or pm and ask them. Or post in Ray's help thread. I know Chris did research on his setup with 3 aeroports... I think he took one out and shortened the other one and it got him the tuning he was looking for.

I think you would be better off with one square port rather than two round ones as long as you round the front and inside edges of the port.

The reason for this is simple: Lets say you needed 64 square inches of port. A round port of this size would be (pi*r^2=64) approximately 9 inches across (4.514 inch radius) with an internal surface area of (2*pi*r) 28.359 square inches per inch of port length.

An equivalent square port of say 8 x 8 would also have 64 square inches of port area, but it would have (8+8+8+8) 32 inches of surface area per inch of port length.

So far, the circle wins, right?

Well, the equation turns on its head when you multiply the number of round ports you are using. Two round ports totalling 64 square inches would each be 6.38 inches across and would have an internal surface area of 20.053 square inches per inch of port. So, times two ports is 40.106 inches of internal surface area per inch of port length for the TWO round ports vs 32 square inches for the square port.
