Need Help Making System Diagram

Recommended Posts

It will be a minute before any actual audio goes into the car but I wanna get an Idea on how I should run things, I have very little audio knowledge so stay wit me. I Have a 87 4 door caprice

I want to bag it but im unsure on if it will fit. Or could I possibly put the tank and compressors under the car?

Any way here is the trunk I just tore out the carpet that was glued down so thats why is looks are Fuckd up in there..

I want to do a wall right there and put in two JL audio 13w7

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=12151

And two of these to each sub

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=12756

I had this idea for a while now and recently came across someone that had the same idea as me, this is in a two door caprice 70's model though, same trunk design too i believe.

These are 12's

Pretty much I want to get the trunk like that... and get the air tank there in the middle

For the inside Im doing some door panels, all re-designed with maybe (1 or 2) 6.5 in each door and with (1 or 2) 1'' tweets in each door.

Rear deck I was thinking of porting the box and having the port come up and out of the rear deck with ?? size speaker on each side and some more tweets? There are factory cut holes for 6x9 now or should I go with a different size speaker.

The front of the car in the dash has 6x4 speakers. You guys think I should even bother putting some in there or just leave those out. I really need a suggestion on this cause Im fixing the dash and glassing that right now so if I put speakers in there or not I may just seal the holes up for the speakers and glass over it.

I was thinking of going with all Rockford Fosgate speakers all through out and the JL subs with JL amps and Rockford Fosgate speakers with Rockford Fosgate amps. Or does that even matter if I use different brand sub with different brand amp?

Head unit Im going with a Touch screen 7in or so most likely Kenwood and two flip down monitors dont know what size or brand yet.

-My concern is which brand speakers I should go with and how many amps will be needed for the speakers besides the subs or is it possible for me to run all the speaker in the cab to just one or two amps to try and save some room for the tank.

-Trying to get the air tank for the bags/subs with enclosure/ and amps in the trunk

-How may batteries will be needed or any at all besides the one under the hood

Also anyone is Sacramento or bay area think they can tackle this project and how much you think it run me...

If I can get help on making a System Diagram so I can go out and buy all the shit I need I appreciate anyones help.

Might post this on other forums to get some more ideas

well first of all give up on the idea of puttin 2 1000.1's on each sub. unless you have a second set. they will explode very quickly. second bagging it is a great idea. third you can put the suspension behind the box and then build in front of the stuff. you gotta lot of room in that trunk

I thought of putting the tank in the back side against the seats but I need to drain them every now and then right? How would I get to it cause the back seats dont fold down and there is sheet metal behind it. Also I dont want to put in a regular box I want something thats permeate unless I decide to redo everything.

Your post is vague and very general.

This is the only question I see and the answer is no you can't fit the tanks and compressors under the car.

Yeah I know I kinda went over board, I got so many question lol.

Okay, well either way The two 13w7 are going back there since reinke said I cant do two 1000.1 to each sub how many watts should I set up for these subs and which amps.

i sell jl for a living at 1000 watts to each sub your warranty goes out the window. i have heard them with 900 to each and thats all you will need. you can put a garden hose on the drain petcock. its sounds ghetto but thats how my brother has his and it works perfecdtly fine. go to streetridepro.com. they have a plug and play kit that we used. we were able to put the compressor under the car, then just put the tank in the trunk. there set-up saved us like 2 days of work. we had his car fully bagged in 15 hours. and if anyone know about a 2003 cavalier it aint really easy to do that

Okay Ima break it down simple.

I want to put (2) 6.5 in each door totals out to (8) 6.5's

I want these for 6.5

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17102

And (2) tweets in each door which totals out to (8) again 1in tweets

And these for the tweets

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14416

Front dash has 6x4 speakers should I even bother with those? If so Im going to through these in there.

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14408

What amps should go with what speakers and how many do you think I need.

Really my issue is will all this fit with the tank in there with batteries that may be needed or not?? ... Compressors are going under the car

Or what would be louder and sound better than just two JL 13w's?

Buy component sets instead of individual speakers.

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14414

Then you'll need an amp like this to power them.

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14331

With 4 sets of components, the 4x6s in the dash will be a waste. Don't bother. Just get one big amp instead of using multiple amps for your subs. It'll help save space.

How many of those sets could I run off that amp you posted.

And I just read this about the Sub and the 1000.1 amps

Overall a spectacular woofer, the best I have ever heard or had personally. The price is high, but you pay for this type of quality. I'm running a 13w7 off a JL 1000/1 amplifier and believe me when I tell you, you NEED to give this sub its recommended 1000 watts RMS for the full experience. People who tell you a 500/1 or other similar amplifier will suffice are crazy in my opinion, 500 watts is severely underpowering this woofer.

And on JL site it says the warranty void for these are between 2,000 and 4,000 and 1,000 is its Optimum range
