curtdakota Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 ok i plan on getting rid of my AQ1200D and buying a crescendo BC3500, and im definatly gonna need to beef up my electrical a bit more. Ive already done the big 3 and have a DC power 270xp alternator, and a kinteic HC2000 as my starting battery. i plan on buying 1 battery for the back, but i just have a few questions as i have never added a second battery to a system before. 1. is it necessary to do a run of 1/0 from my front battery to the rear battery to ground it? or is a chassis ground good enough? 2. providing that the rear battery itself is grounded properly, can i ground my amp directly to the rear battery negative post? or is it better to ground to the chassis?

And you can also ground the battery in the back to the chassis as well. And grounding the amp to the negative battery post after the 1/0 negative run is completed will be better than a chassis ground any day.
