12" Type-r Enclosure Recommendations?

anybody have any experience with this sub? my sisters friends wants a box for one. alpine recommends 1.3cubes net with 15sq" of port area tuned to 34hz....does that sound good...seems a tad small for size and port area to me?!?!?

I used a box 2.25 cu ft tuned to 32Hz and it sounded good and got loud

yea, i was thinking like 2 cubes net tuned to 33ish...

i have a similar question,i have a 99 grand prix and i just bought two of the type-r 12's and im wanting to get a ported or slotted box tuned around 32ish(this is what ive read other people tune their boxes at) but i dont want to take up the entire trunk with a box so i was looking for a pre fab box that would leave me some room and i found these

or would i be better off getting a box built,if so can some one give me some dimensions to work with,i can make it my self but i just need some dimensions.i listen to mostly spanish music but i also listen to older rap(tupac,geto boys,nwa,too short,etc.)

or would i be better off putting them in the sealed box i currently have which is this one

I got 2 - 12" Type R's tuned around 36 hz.

I cant recall the measurements tho...

its a pretty big box tho...

36 x 16 x 24

and port is 3 inch wide

i was on another site and those guys over there swear that these woofers sound better in a sealed box,

btw i have a 99 grand prix with the fold down center piece in the rear seat that gives acces to the trunk.

they need about 2.7-2.6 before displacement of the subs, i found that size box works best

SPLGEO actually designed the box i have and i'm pretty sure thats what my box is. It sounds GREAT!!! honestly! I wouldnt seal these thangs up, it sounds like crap!! well compared to ported especially like mine.

box is huge too
