mattc3366
Im going to make my first ported box tomorrow and im going to be using 2 4" pvc ports and ill be flaring the end. Would it be better to put a port in opposite corners or put them both to one side of the box? The ports will be on the same face of the box with the subs . Ill update with some pictures when im out of work incase my wording is confusing lol. Guest
if its multiple woofers, put the ports on opposite ends of the box. putting both ports on one side can cause unloading issues for the woofer closest to the ports.
mattc3366
Thanks for the quick replys guys! Ill probably just go with what kranny said subwoofers - two eclipse 88120s box - 3.4 cubes tuned to 32 hz amps - aq1200 and pheonix gold zx450 New build : 2 obsidian audio 15s same amp 6.1 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hz in a civic hatch
mattc3366
Well it looks like when I planned this box I didn't account for fitting the ports on the same face as the subs so im going to have to do two center ports . Would 45s in the back left and right corner of the box help direct my sound to the ports? subwoofers - two eclipse 88120s box - 3.4 cubes tuned to 32 hz amps - aq1200 and pheonix gold zx450 New build : 2 obsidian audio 15s same amp 6.1 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hz in a civic hatch
412 CVX
might help direct airflow a little. prob not a ginormous difference but shouldn't hurt. Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. AI James
both on same wall. loading ports in different directions more often then not is less efficient
