i was going too...but take a look at post #77 in this thread...the only thing different with that box is that it is 1/2" deeper and 1/8"wider than the new dimensions you gave me. so its basically the same exact thing...

no...i have tried to use winsd but havent really figured it out...i just try and base it off the manufactures specs...RE says .65cubes for the smallest enclosure tuned to 35...and luckily, your dimensions came out to exactly that after the sub and port displacement

imo it depends on what ur going for...as u are probably aware of. if you are looking for deeper bass that may get louder then i would go ported. if you are looking for more tight/accurate bass (like rock music) but maybe not as loud then sealed. i dont have any personal experience with the re8's but from what i have heard other people say, most seemed to be quite pleased with these subs in a ported enclosure.

as far as the placement of the woofers, i guess that is something that needs to be played around with to find the best spot...i just put them on the opposite side of the port b/c i didnt like the idea of one sub being 'pinned' against the port while the other sub wasnt. i kinda felt like air flow would be maximized in that setup...maybe add a 45 in that corner.

from personal experience with that type of enclosure...with the subs to the passenger side and port on the drivers side...it will sound louder to the driver as compared to the passeneger. i was trying to avoid that by havig a port on each side, but i couldnt make it work.

im really not to technical in my designs. with time and more experience i will probably gain a better understanding of port/woofer placement as well as enclosure size.

I can build a box now because I bought a full 4-Piece 18v tool kit for $30.

A drill, jigsaw, sander, and flashlight.

Max dimensions are limitless, whatever will optimize design.

Subwoofer up port back.

Tuning to about 37hz.

Daily.

Subwoofer is One Audiopipe TXX-12B

No bracing.

Here are the specs.

Scroll down to TXX-AP all colors.

There is a typo there it is a Dual 4 ohm coil not 2.

EDIT: Can you tune the box to 37 hertz instead of 43?

Would it make too much of a difference sound level wise?

I need a box design for 2 kicker comp 8's, daily, in a dodge dakota. Would like it tuned to 32-35 hz, measurements are no more than 20 inches high x 28 inches wide x 12 inches deep. Thanks
