KINGKONGINTHETRUNK Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 thinking about getting this and building a ported box and keeping for my next vehicle http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/ele/2688054561.html is it a good enough deal? Quote
412 CVX Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 long as everything's intact and it's not blown, should be pretty good. it says it's dual 2 ohm so just keep in mind you can wire it to 1 ohm or 4 ohms. splmark Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Looks like a good deal to me just look at the coils (if u can) and make sure they are not burnt.f Quote http://www.termpro.com/dbdrag/memberalbum/34416a0.jpg
ChevyBoy95 Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) it sells for 160-200 new, so 100 is pretty good. Just make sure it doesn't look beat up and works. edit: spelling Edited November 30, 2011 by ChevyBoy95 Quote Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
IBleedMusick Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 I would say yeah off the simple fact that its a 15" sub that does 1000w RMS for $100 bux I would talk him down as far as possible and make sure that bish is in great condition and works 100% but other than that yeah go for it. KINGKONGINTHETRUNK Posted November 30, 2011 Author Report Posted November 30, 2011 if i hook it up to my friends 1000 watt amp and it works its good right? Quote
Thomas B Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 well that can be a good question betting he was using that amp with the gains turned way up trying to get all he could outta that amp it's probably got some good wear and tear internally. The speaker ain't that great to start off with Sensitivity: 81 dB and A new one is $157 + shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOUNDSTREAM-T5-15-CAR-15-SUBWOOFER-NEW-/130466236045?pt=Car_Audio_Video&vxp=mtr&hash=item1e6064c68d It's not like your getting the greatest deal there. Offer him $75. If he takes it you can't loose. ChevyBoy95 Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 yea, just take a DMM and check the coils. As long as they are within .2 of the rated ohm load. If it works and no coil rub, go for it. 412 CVX Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 like i said earlier, if the amp does 1000 watts at 4 ohms or 1000 at 1 ohm, you should be fine.
