If you're asking what /I/ would do /I/ would definitely keep it all in the trunk. Not so much to haul friends around, but because I'm a believer in "out of sight, out of mind." If thieves don't know your car, they may pass over it since they can't see what you've got in it. But if they see it in the car, they may just try to break in and five-finger discount it.
