96burban
Did you by chance pull the plug out of the exhaust to make sure it isn't fouled out and no wires are melted? Yep I checked..everything is fine. Actually today I disconnected the map sensor to try a little experiment to c if it worked. And it worked the first time again and it didn't work again.. 96burban
Oh... Don't try to disable the O2 sensors electronically. You'll get CELs and all kinds of problems. But if you use those adapters, the O2 sensors will think things are fine. even if there is unburnt fuel present. ALSO>>> Catalytic converters WILL burn up if there is a load of unburnt fuel going through the exhaust. Ok I won't do that to the O2 sensor haha thanks for stopping me. And yeah that looks perfect for what I need. That is if that's the problem I'm having...damnit!! Seriously!!? Crap....sooooo what would happen if my cat burns up exactly..? What should I do..?? TheBetterMethod
Yeah if your problem is the O2 reading, those will fix you up. If your cats keep getting all that extra fuel, they'll get contaminated with soot. So they'll clog and make you lose power, and fuel economy or stop the engine altogether (stalling). Or they might overheat and melt-down. You'd be better off taking out the cats and replacing them with empty shells of cats. So it looks stock to pass inspection. Unless you're in Cali. or some other state that uses an emissions tester. 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon Pioneer 9400BH Fi Q 15, SAZ1500dV3 The first build>>> http://www.stevemead...-outback-build/ 140.9 @ 36hz Sealed on dash! 96burban
Thing is that I'm assuming that it's the O2 sensor it's the only thing I could think of..but damn now I'm having second thoughts..my friend gave me an idea of instead of using the cars fuel y not strapping a propane tank somewhere under the chassis with an electronic valve and spark it up just for flames. Would that work? Or too risky?? TheBetterMethod
I'd go propane. It's cheap and reliable. I've heard of guys using before. You can probably google that and get some good info. Plus you can rev the engine while you blow flames so you get a better effect. 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon Pioneer 9400BH Fi Q 15, SAZ1500dV3 The first build>>> http://www.stevemead...-outback-build/ 140.9 @ 36hz Sealed on dash! Tarball
Just to keep everyone honest here...it is federal law to have a working catalytic converter on any vehicle made sine the 1970's. Even if you state or county hoes not have inspection it is a violation of federal law to tamper with your O2 Sensors or your catalytic converter - including "gutting it out". Will you get pulled over , busted and sent to prison for gutting your converter....probably not. TheBetterMethod
^Not true, if a car is over 25 years old (I think that's right) it doesn't have to pass any of that stuff and you can do whatever you want with it. California law may be different. Also, you only have to have the original equipment or equivalent for the vehicle. Not all vehicles were equipped with catalytic converters. 96burban, be careful. 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon Pioneer 9400BH Fi Q 15, SAZ1500dV3 The first build>>> http://www.stevemead...-outback-build/ 140.9 @ 36hz Sealed on dash!
