Yea from So cal. If he still has his truck then I would like to get a picture of them together. He has a 97 dodge ram on 40's with 10 inches total of lift. But the dodges themselves sit higher stock than chevy's. Might be about the same size as your buddies on 44's. Definitely don't see that many tall trucks driving down the road, especially in this economy.

ya the dodges do sit a bit higher. that truck is pretty big lol i cant lie i would have shit if i saw that thing a few weeks ago like it was the biggest shit ever...idk size is relative i guess just like sound

So can someone give me a run down of what I'd need to do if I wanted to lift mine more than the reverse shackle kit is going to. I have to be realistic with my family and all, but what if I wanted to go up 8 - 10"? What, besides the lift, would I need and need to think about? I guess I'm almost asking for a list of things to save for so to speak.

longer shocks, brake lines, i'm not sure on the steering. the rear with the shackle should give around 4" of lift, + 4''-6'' lift springs for the rear,that should give you the lift you need.

the front will need 8-10" springs. also probably need longer driveshafts.

Wow, big thanks man! I'll write it down and start pricing it out! Penny here dime there! In about 10 years I should be there! LMAO!! Ok maybe next year! Either way thanks! So I'm getting a reverse front shackle kit now, well soon should've been a couple weeks ago. Pisses me off, but that's another story all having to do with my lack of time! So the front reverse shackle kit gives me about 3" up front. I need new springs up front anyway. But then I should be looking for a 5-6" leaf lift kit for front then right? Should get me to 8-9" up front.

Then you say the rear shackle, what part is that? Is that this: Ford Rear Shackle Flip Kit? It adds 4.5" by itself. Then I'd need a leaf lift along with that too correct, which will get me to about 8.5-9" total? Just trying to follow what you're saying.

Brake lines and shocks, drop pitman arm, etc all makes sense. My only think I'd have to figure out would be the drive shaft and how to go about that. I'd probably have to change the gears in the back too wouldn't I? If I go that tall I'm definitely going bigger tires, not sure of sizes, but something around a 40 maybe.

yes scooter you are correct on the height with the shackles in front.

i would be willing to bet you wont need a driveline...i have a buddy (with the white chevy shown above) that used his stock drive line in the rear with no issues at all. mine was about an inch too short from being usable (not the best but usable) so yours should work if you stay in the 8-10" spot where u wanted to be.

it would probably be a good idea to regear the truck though then you can actually have some balls for towing and what not.

if your concern is towing do not do blocks at all in the back and if you do at least do trailing arm to help you with some of the axle wrap. i have a 2" block in the back and i can see that the axle has moved (already) backwards so i need to loosen everything up and straighten it then retighten lol sounds like fun!
