Great, thanks for the info J! Yeah when all is said and done, I'll probably be towing a travel trailer so I wanna make sure I can have power enough to tow. Be a shame to have a 460L motor and not be able to use it to it's ability! Wish it was a diesel though!

if your concern is towing do not do blocks at all in the back and if you do at least do trailing arm to help you with some of the axle wrap. i have a 2" block in the back and i can see that the axle has moved (already) backwards so i need to loosen everything up and straighten it then retighten lol sounds like fun!

So a trailing arm will stop the axel wrap? I can't seem to find on online, is that something I have to have made? I'm looking. You know what, I'll look more and ask on my Ford Forum. I don't wanna take up too much here asking questions for me. I got the jest of it. I'd love to get her up to 8" or more! We'll see what I can put together! Thanks man!

Scooter, you might not be able to use the factory drive shaft since it is a 2 piece unit with a middle bearing (at least that is what is on my 86).

scooter: ya all a trailing armm does is hold the axle where it is horizontally...i need them back. and they should make some for it.

blue: if he does have a 2 piece then ya you are right for sure. or lower the part with the carrier bearing to make it a straight line once the rear lift is done.

I was reading on the forum though, that not having the blocks makes for a worse ride which is not good either. What about putting bags in there instead? Don't flame me, I'm not sure so I figured I'd ask. Even with the bags though I'd have to have the bars right? I only need one set for the rear, or should I get another one for the front too?

What did it cost for your axle John? It's an 8ft bed and crew cab if that makes any difference.

i am not sure on the bag situation cause ive never done it honestly. but i do know that would help your ride and im sure youd still need the traction bars. and yes those are correct.

the driveline cost me 500 its made out of schedule 103 4" steel and i got all new everything basically so thats cheap i think so what i got. that was a bayshore here in reno. they did an awesome job and had a quick ass turn around time.

and i would assume your front end already has them (i dont know for sure) most fords do...and my axle in front which came from a 98 ford 350 with dana 60 has mounts for the linkage but like i said idk if yours has it.

scooter: i would definitely regear the axles, i'm not sure if you have a diesel or gas motor. which will play a role on how low you should go.

if its a gas motor i'd do 5.13s or 5.38's,if diesel, go for 4.56's. as for blocks in the rear, i wouldnt do it. i've seen blocks crack or even get spit out.

i've had a 2" block decide it didnt want to be part of my truck anymore. it wasn't fun, of course i was out beating the shit out of it when i spit it out.

if you do add a block, make sure its steel, not aluminium or those cheap as kits from vatozone.

this has me lol, you're are going need a forklift and a pallet if that wall ever comes out.

after seeing this, my truck will be a midget next to yours.

My dad has air bags on his v12. We haul 2 four wheelers, my dirt bike, a 21 ft camp trailer and like 100 gallons of water and the truck doesn't squat at all. Without a load tho it rides rough as hell so you have to be sure to let the air out.
