I'm wondering if you get a bunch of water in there is that going to be an issue? Water is a conductor right? Distilled water won't conduct because it has no ions but tap water, rain water, etc. (Stuff with salt) will conduct. That is good thinking though. you always notice the small important details. It amazes me cause I never would thought of that. skyhighcaraudio Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Posted March 28, 2013 couldn't you put some sheet metal, or in your case 1/4 inch plate steel, to line the battery trays and use some kind of rubber gasket to seal them from the elements? sure. you can do anything you want. but theres no room for that i mean we are talking about 1/2" clearances from battery posts to bed lol the bottom is 100% sealed if water gets in the top so be it. i can promise you water wont be an issue considering when this truck was smaller and went through mud puddles and such there would be mud on the batteries under the hood and nothing ever happened. the truck is babied a lot more than that now so a little water wont hurt anything.
