GTOguy Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 I don't think I am quite ready to upgrade my alternator yet but any way I was looking at Mechman and DC Power's websites and did not see any alternators for my car. I saw ones for the Corvette, Camaro, and Trans Am with the LS1 chevy engine. I know the Corvette's alternator is in a different location than the GTO. SS4Luck Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 The difference in the location on all LS engines is pulley location/spacing. I was running a 5.3L truxk Alt on my camaro cuz its slightly higher output. You could have a HO one made and swap the pulleys I'm sure. Check ls1tech.com or a GTO forum and see of any of the other LS platform stuff works on a goat. If its an LS1 and not an LS2 I'm pretty sure the fbody stuff works lol or you can just start hooking shit up together and blow up speakers and your amp
