Top OR bottom will work, doesn't really matter a whole lot as to which side is treated.

As for covering up holes, no need for that.

So to recap:

Top or bottom, whichever is easiest for you.

Don't bother to cover up holes.

unless you're sealing off, don't cover the holes, less air flow ;)

I say top, and retighten the rear dash when you're done, mine broke so I took it out lol

sealing off ftw... but its harder then it looks especially in a cobalt

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

i had to cover holes, as my rear dash would slam against the back, flex, andmake more noise then the bass did..altho removeing that made huge diff lol

haha thanks man it is a good xmas gift, i do got weather stripper along the back of the rear deck cuz the cardboard carpet shit was bouncing of the window that made a difference, it does rattle alot and i just wanna gain alittle more spl, so ill just do top and bottom to make it more solid and wont cover holes, what bout the plastic clips that are under the rear deck...
