System Upgrade

ok so my current system is the older version of this

looking to upgrade to

and my question is do i need both of those amps for the mids and highs or do i only need one?

and if i only need one how would i wire it?

i don't see that as much of an upgrade

but to answer your question, you don't need the mids and highs amp. you really don't have enough of a sub stage to require that.

for the subs, you can wire in parallel to 2 ohms or in series to 8

maybe my standards are a little too high, but i don't really trust amps that don't tell you their RMS output.

again, i don't see much gain here unless you get a better amp. or if you are using a prefab/sealed enclosure now, you make a better box for your current subs.

the definition of necessary varies from person to person. i'll just say, you will probably see some sound quality gains from replacing the stock speaker. amplifying them with the amp will make them louder, but it's probably not necessary to overcome the bass.

i'm also saying that the so called "upgrade" is not much of an upgrade at all. what enclosure do you have your subs in now? that might be a good place to start.

^ not a horrible amp but I would not pay that much for it! I just got the 900rms version of this amp off of eBay for $50 haha. For 160 you can get a better amp

i apologize if i sound like an ass. finals always stress me out a little.

anyways you might be able to get a better amp for 160 like kam 311 said. that's just one of the first things that i saw. do some research and ask about them here.
