Dual Stock Alt or One H/O Alt

Okay here's the dilemma; I can get a second, stock 130 amp alt at no cost, brand new. I would just have to pay to have the bracket fabricated, and I think I have the room for a second alt.

Now, will the output be comparable to one 240 H/O alt? Because that's what seems to fit my car as a direct swap with the factory alt.

This is going in a 2004 Honda Pilot and will be powering a T2500bdcp birthed at 3.59k watts. Thanks for any advice/input!

You get the alt for free try it, if BS sell both and bracket and buy yourself a H/O alt.

Thats not a bad idea. I'm mainly curious about the output of two stock alts and how the combined output will compare to one H/O though.

Well I'm not sure exactly how the stock alts are rated, weather it be at a certain RPM or what, but generally the HO alts are going to produce more power at lower RPM's. You also have to factor in cost of a new mount, belt, and wire to install. The two stock alts will theoretically produce 260 amps so that should give you more then a HO alt but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck! :thumbsup:

If you have both factoryalts on hand, sell them, and buy a H/O. Shit with making a bracket, you get a half H/O alt for the money.

If you get the second only if you use the alt for yourself, suggestion 1.
