dirtrider
Im building this tomorrow when I get home from college because I want to try out a radical design.I have alot of extra ports laying around so I figured I would try it out while I am home over christmas break.I dont care how it sounds, I just want to see if it works. sub: d2 sa-12 amp: crappy kewood 900wrms amp wired to 1 ohm car: 01 tomoya camry The enclosure will resemble this photo but have different sized chambers and different ports. The rear ported section is going to be 2 cuft net tuned to 30 with 1 4in aero 15.5in long. The front chamber is going to be 2.89 cuft net tuned to 60 with 1 8in aero 7.5in long. matt402
design looks ok but id make the rear chamber smaller, ~.9-1.2 cubes. Edited December 15, 2011 by matt402

AmericanLegend
Cool^^ you sound like me You can use a roundover bit on a double port baffle.
dirtrider
To be honest I was pretty scared of this box failing, but it definetly did not. I did have to change the design to make the 4in port fit. I also decided to reverse mount the sub to make the rear chamber about 2 cu ft. I also had to recalculate my ports to get the right tuning, the 4in is 17in long and exactly 30hz tuning. And the 8in is 9in long and exactly 60hz tuning. My first impression with the my kenwood amp was wow this thing plays pretty loud for one 12 over a large frequency range even the lower 20's. So overall it sounds good when the dang amp doesnt fade in and out :scream:. Now to the fun part!!! I borrowed my friends saz-2500 and wired it up at 1 ohm. The whole time playing the lowest i saw was 11.7v. I was amazed, my [email protected] would take me down to 11v flat if i wasnt paying attention . The box sounded amazing!!!!! I could not believe how low this thing got. It played down to 27hz(plays down to 20 just isnt as loud) before it started sounding muddy because the rear chamber doesnt have much port area. This box no joke plays from 28-60 with authority. Would i suggest this design for a low power build, probably not. But for high power application this design seems like it would work really good and play all kinds of music with a flat response. And yes the box is ugly, but ugly is loud so idgaf:D

AmericanLegend
Hey take a look at my 4th order build going on right now and tell me what you think okay? I'm not done with it yet and am worried about how it will sound even though the computer model suggests it will kill a ported or sealed box... dirtrider
crappy kenwood amp kept fading in and out, cant see much flex but the box is very musical over a wide frequency range and is very loud for ~900wrms(if that) sorry the vid isnt very good but you get the point, the song is 26hz btw Edited December 23, 2011 by dirtrider
