Bacy2k
yes you can have too big of an alt. my alt i got was too big and it wouldnt fit in place of my stock alt. i know thats not what you were asking, but it is literally what you asked lol. but just curious, did you properly set your gains? if you didnt set your gains properly, that could be the problem. what size amp is it? Cody7751
The gains are all the way down since I have a bass boost knob hooked up to the amp all the way turned up. I have a 1500 watt hifonics amp. I'm pulling 1000 watts with my subs( and Im pulling 400 watts from my mids and highs but that amp isnt hooked up because of the voltage drop) I'm going to be getting a fi bl 10 in the next couple of weeks so I'm going to be pulling 1500 watt for my sub then. So I will be pull 1900 watts max in the next couple of weeks

Bacy2k
yep. and that alone can cause you to have bad voltage drop and for your shit to sound messed up. the bass boost being all the way up could also be the 1 thing making it sound bad (if its a bad enough boost)... tune properly, and then see how it sounds and go from there. not sure with your vehicle, but my car could handle a 1500 watt amp no problem on stock electrical. Rebel4055
No wonder you have HUGE voltage drop. Get rid of the bass boost knob and never use it unless you know what your doing with it. Properly gain your system with a oscope or something similar. Quote Rest In Peace mother. Socky
If this was me, I would contact mechman and order the biggest alt I could fit with a voltage boost module. That way for future upgrades you are set.
