Cost of Chameleon Paint?

In 1996 Ford painted a very limited number of Cobras and Ford Taura SHO's in a color called Mystic, which was chameleon paint.

For a full color change it will cost between $5k-10k

Also some 98 GT's and Cobras. Where my GF's cane from.

And then again in 03-04 for the Termi only.

Paint is called Chromystic.

Funny thing is that the materials themselves aren't that expensive, well the y are compared to regular paint but nowhere near the 5-10k that is usually charged.
