Should I soundproof car trunk?

Foam is great for isolating trim and preventing and stopping rattles, but to act as an absorber you would need several inches worth of form to do any good. And I'm not talking 1-2 inches, it's more like 6 + inches and that's just not going to happen in a car.

Thats why it's more effective to use a thinner but much denser material like mass loaded vinyl to BLOCK the sound instead of absorb it.

so you mean like deadner over damplifier???

over that is there any way to totally isolate the sound (like loud music)....i mean to isolate it so that you cant hear from outside of the car that much?

Mass loaded vinyl really isn't deadener, but rather a noise barrier or sound blocker. But yes if you use it in conjunction with a vibration damping mat it would help isolate the sound and prevent it from being heard outside the vehicle. Especially so if you install it INSIDE the door cavity, behind the speakers.

But just like everything in this world there are limiting factors and in the case of vehicles, it's the glass/windows. You will still be able to hear the music through the glass of the window...

so...dynamat is expensive....your damplifier (not damplifier pro) is in a normal price as silent coat the normal one(2mm)...guess i will go with either SS damplifier or silent coat..but i will need A LOT of that sheets...(and my budget for car audio stuff is like 150-250€ a month)

You can, but the term "diminishing return" comes to mind.

25% coverage with a sound deadening material is really all that is needed and 100% coverage is the maximum you should ever do.

Multiple layers is just wasteful.

so...if i get a 2mm foil over a 4mm foil would just get better with one layer of it?

is that just because the 2mm fiol is more thick than a 4mm?
