DynastyDesigns
Ok so I'm doing a budget build for my friend, basically 2 12's in a ported box going in the trunk of his BMW 3 series. I've seen youtube videos of people's trunks flexing but the metal is rattling and it sounds horrible. I dont know if this is just youtube quality distortion or what... Please tell me if i need to soundproof the trunk and what product is best to do it with. Thank you.
SnowDrifter
Yes - less trunk flex means more sound pressure entering the cabin. Go to http://secondskinaudio.com/ and get either damplifier pro or alpha damp ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Guest
yeah its usually highly recommended to put in sound dampener to reduce those panel vibrations. a lot of people will tell you to go with Second Skin, either Damplifier or Damplifier Pro. edit: damn ninja'd
DynastyDesigns
Thanks for the help guys. The problem is it's expensive as hell! Well i second that, I wouldn't have to do the whole trunk right? Just the part that pops up, thats usually all that rattles. Correct me if I'm wrong. MarioB
I would do it. 12- DC Audio m2Lvl3 12's1- Hertz HSK3 way2- DC5K's2- ZX350.42- Stinger SP1500D batteries in rear3- runs of 1/0ga. to the rearTeam DC Audiodcsoundlab.com Quality is all in how you take pictures I have plenty of projects that look WAY better on camera then in person crazy to fit so many in so little. Reminds me of some of the porns I've seen?
C-Fizzy
It definitely won't be sound proof. C-Fizzy
Btw, I bought 50 sqft of audiotechnix 60 mil deadener for under 100 bucks shipped. B-stock but it works fine. And I love it. under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy?
KillaCam
http://www.audiotechnix.com/ Thats cheaper, not as good as SS but still pretty good. Do the whole trunk, if I had to chose between doing only part of the trunk with damplifer or the whole trunk with audio technix id go with the whole trunk. Edit: I type slow.. so am easily ninja'd lol And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth.. zxsonnyxz
Even just dampening the lisence plate would help out a LOT, cause that's usually the first thing that rattles.
