basshead8569 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 So, I have a 2003 Ford Focus Se. Currently I have my 2 subs facing the rear of my car. But, I view a lot of pics/vids on here and youtube. And over half of them have there subs facing the front of the car. Does one way give better bass/flex then the other? I am bout to fully mount the system in the trunk and build the amp rack. And would like other bass heads opinions on it. Plus I am building the amp rack to sit on top of the sub box. About how far should I put the amp rack above the subs? Heard if they are to close to the box it will cause problems. Current system (still building) 2 kicker 12" dcvr in factory kicker ported box, Rockford Fosgate 1200.1 Amp, Kenwood ddx-470 ddin radio, Rockford Fosgate 0 Gauge wiring, Rockford Fosgate punch 6X8 2 way speakers.

In a regular trunk subs facing the back works the best unless you seal it off. Although I have seen a few that face forwards that turned out pretty good. And my port is on the side of the box. Since I am making sure my 1 yr old daughter has a good Christmas. I am putting the box build on hold. It is the kicker box that comes with the kicker 12"dcvr subs. Hoping to build a new box at the beginning of the year. That is that hard part. What design to build. Where and how big the ports to be and all that. Never built a box. Habby Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 in regards to building a box to get specs your subs should have came with the manual if not you can go to the kicker website and download it and will give you dementions on building the box OR you can contact kicker thru email tell them what you want for music or spl or both and they will give you all the info you need, hope that helps you out a bit

But, my friends brother has the same subs I got and same amps and all. His hits a lot harder then mine and it is tuned amp wise just like mine. Just a different box. With him over seas in the Marines I cant ask him what he built.
