maybe post pics of torres screen shot? could be something you made a mistake on that messed up ur tuning..also pics of the box installed could help if the box itself isnt doing it?

this

I know people that peak below their tuning frequency. Just a strange phenomenon.

in car tuning usually drops, most with suvs its seems when the port fires back.

if this help my 4th order peaks below tuning :peepwall:

thats different... and common in 4ths

How do you know for sure that your car peaks at 51hz?

Because your previous boxes peaked there or what?

Going from the sketchup, it seems about correct, or maybe a bit too long, but i'm guessing so that means nothing at all.(im not that pro that i can guess tuning by just looking at the box :P )

We actually tested the car for the frequency

Ok but how did you do it?

sealed box, 1ft3, sealed of the trunk to fire directly into the cabin, did a sweep first, (those are never accurate because its so fast the mic don't have time to pick it quickly enough) and then from what the sweep said, we started 5hz lower and worked our way up, full tilt each time to get an accurate reading, I have been doing this for a minute. I know a FEW things, not all, probably not most, but a FEW things :clapping:

so u put 1 hdc3 10" in a 1cuft sealed box? u don't just stick any sub into a 1cuft sealed box and expect its response to be flat on all frequencies.

your 51hz peak is not right at all likely, that's just where the sealed box peaked at

Like decaf said, you don't just put a random sub in a 1cu ft sealed enclosure and it will tell you the peak.

But it could also be because you are much louder with the ported box, and the peak frequency drops, but it should drop almost 20 hertz.

you got less than 20 responses and you're already giving up because someone questioned how you got 51hz...

wow

is the dual 10" box sealed off firing forward?

It was a Boston acoustic sub by the way, same one my buddy uses at his shop for customer cars, but anyways, this thread has turned into something other than what I posted so I will consider this thread closed, thanks to those who stayed on the topic

Lol, really?

We just need the correct circumstances to know what's going on, nothing else going on.
