beaker
nope, no intake fans, with all of the exaust it creates negitive air pressure in the case, and pulls air through the flitered front bezel.
Maxim
I think you're better off having the side fans as intakes for this build, especially if you're adding a 680 (or two!). You'll want to have the bottom front fan to blow on the HDD's, the top front fan to direct air towards the CPU cooler, and the side fans to blow some air onto the mobo and towards the GPU intake. The case has one rear exhaust fan, the PSU for top exhaust (not ideal but it's there by default) and if you add a rear-exhaust graphics card you'll be set. Cool air goes in the front and side. Hot air out the back. wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 . inm
Yeah, after running a few tests at work today, (With components that shall remain unnamed... ) side panel intake is definitely more beneficial than exhaust. I still might end up doing a top mounted exhaust, but it will be a while before I do that. Here's the order of future updates now: 1 - First GTX 680 2 - Sell current SSD and upgrade to 2x 120GB Intel 520s in RAID 1 3 - Possibly a liquid cool 4 - Second GTX 680 On 2/28/2013 at 2:52 PM, Chaise said: "Now spread your butt cheeks so I can zap your asshole." 2008 Subaru Forester XT
beaker
Not a RAID 0 on the SSD's? From my testing, the Crucial M4's have done better than the Intels in terms of data throughput and read/write failures. That was a few months ago though, firmware might have changed since then. Two M4's on a good SATAIII controller will just touch 1000meg/sec throughput in RAID 0. SATA II they hit about 580ish
inm
I meant to say RAID 0, oops. In my own testing at work, Intel SSDs have slightly slower read/write speeds, but have a much lower fail rate. I'm willing to sacrifice a small amount of speed for a higher sense of security against drive failure. Even then, 2 SSDs of any stature in a RAID 0 will surely blow my current SSD out of the water. beaker
I have 2 M4's in RAID0 at home, I do need a new SATA III controller, the onboard was only PCI-E 1x and it bottlenecked at 540meg/sec As far as the intels, the garbage collection was better (at the time) than the intels, which is why I went with them for RAID since you loose TRIM support in a raid config. inm
Oh, I should also add this to my list of future upgrades. I may end up switching from my current Z68 board to something in the Z77 series. inm
I couldn't stop myself. Nothing spectacular, but much better than Intel HD 4000 graphics. I'll eventually either: a- Sell the 550TI and buy a 690 or b- buy another 550TI and run SLI Whatever is cheaper/easier when I'm in the market to do so. inm
4.6 wasn't stable, so I went ahead and did some tweaks. Looks like we're stable now, ready to save a profile and bump the speeds a little more. :] On 2/28/2013 at 2:52 PM, Chaise said: "Now spread your butt cheeks so I can zap your asshole." 2008 Subaru Forester XT
