inm Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 Bought a Forester XT last Friday, ordered a wiring harness for it Saturday, and installed a new radio today. Pretty quick turn around... lol In my previous vehicles, my brother installed the headunit, this is the first one I did on my own. Only took about an hour, not bad at all. As for plans, I have none yet. Something small, most likely. Don't wanna add too much weight to this baby, wanna keep her quick and light. inm Posted September 6, 2014 Author Report Posted September 6, 2014 Just ordered some 4awg wire, some fuse holders, and some remote wire. Still deciding on sub/amp combination, but until I make a final decision, I'll be running two 12" Kickers on my DC1.2k. osiris10012 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Sweet looking ride. I have always like the forester xt's. Tuned in for sure.
inm Posted September 11, 2014 Author Report Posted September 11, 2014 First, I plastidipped my rims. Previous owner had curbed it more than a few times, it seems. I'll be getting new rims in the future, but I wanted to at least cover up those scratches for now. The black looks awesome, in my opinion. I also ordered some 4awg and 12awg SHCA wire from Dropping Hz. Shout out to both of them. Got some lime green and some pink. Not pictured: 4awg o-rings, fuse holders, and white heat shrink. inm Posted September 16, 2014 Author Report Posted September 16, 2014 Better shot of my headunit, and the placement of my Nexus. The Nexus is connected via Bluetooth, and I use it for music, nav, movies and everything. inm Posted September 16, 2014 Author Report Posted September 16, 2014 My next step is going to be trying to cram my Clarion 4 channel amp behind the dash. It's a very small amp, and it will be tight but I think I'll get it to fit. I'm pretty sure it will fit right where the stock satellite radio unit is. After that, I'll be drilling a hole to run my power wire and throw a temporary sub/amp in there. Tint will be coming in the next couple of weeks, and after that, it's full speed ahead to coilover town. I hope to getting myself a set of coils for Christmas.
