My box I want is H20xW45.5xD40 I need to know if this is enough space as well as how much port area do I need for tuning at 30-35 hz. Please help. Thanks for all your in put..

I put those numbers into Torres and after taking out a decent size port and other displacements that box would be about 13 cubes net. Ascendant recommends 4-7 each on the 18s. I would try to get as close to 16 inches of port per cube if at all possible. Someone else may chime in that has ran the SMD subs in a smaller than recommended enclosure. Good Luck!!!!!

pwdrblucivic Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 I tried it with 22"h x 45.5"w x 43"d and came up with just over 16 cubes......port size was 5.5" tall x 44" wide (port at bottom of box) and about 22" deep.....That would tune it in the area of 32hz with 14.5" of port per cube....

Exactly my thoughts lol ok no its not a dream build and yes I already have most of the stuff in my truck now Im running two tc 18's lms on a ia 40.1 at .05 with 5 batts I have two 200 amp alts and a mla module already I'm looking to upgrade that system and i will post or send u pictures when i start my new build I just need two amps to push the 4 smd's. I hoping to get two 12k's and two new alts 270+ and 4 more batts.
