Subs getting louder randomly

Okay. So I have been noticing that my subwoofers will start out quite and then all of a sudden while I am driving they will get a lot louder? Why is this? I use to think it was because my battery wasn't warmed up but that's not it because it takes like ten minutes and my car gets warm in like 2 minutes. Hope you can help.

Not nearly enough info... How's your volts? What are you running equipment wise, kind of car?

a couple things come to mind

your alt kicks in and gives a couple volts more now and then

you have a loose power terminal

you have a bad RCA pair where one goes in and out

I'm sure there's more to look at, someone else will chime in I'm sure.

I am only running 400 watts less than that even. And it's a ford contour 1998

Any amplifier with an unregulated power supply (which is most amps) will give more to your speakers if they're getting more voltage. Watch your voltmeter (you have a voltmeter, right?) and see if there's a correlation with it and the random volume bump. If not, then take a look at the other things I said.

Is it on only certain songs?

I have a volt meter but i have it un hooked. I will hook it up tomorrow and check it out. And no it. Once it gets loud it stays loud. But until then it is quiet.
