Hi guys. The current set up is 1 kicker ZX 1000.1. Rated power is 500watts @ 4ohms and 1000 Watts @ 2ohms. I have 1 MX18 D2 sub that is currently wired @ 4 ohms. I have another off brand 2 channel amp powering some highs.

I just got a MB Quart 125x4 . 2 channels can be bridged to put out 500 Watts @ 4 ohms. My question is can this amp effectively replace the 2 I have installed?

I don't have any cash to upgrade to a suitable amp for the MX18 in the foreseeable future.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't run the sub off that amp just use it for your mids and highs and leave the other one for the sub

Why not wire the sub to 1 ohm and let that ZX1000.1 actually give it some power? I know Kickers say only stable to 2 ohm, but I'm sure you will be over that with rise. I wired mine to 1.34 and it loved it all day! Loudest I ever heard that amp, NEVER protected or shutdown in any way. But I think that depends on how stout your electric is also.

Some have success with wiring those amps below the recommended ohm load. I, on the other hand, don't have success with the kicker amps being at 1.4ohm or below. It will protect on me. So I will not recommend the 1ohm nominal.

I thought about wiring down to 1 . But I have stock electrical. My alt is 105 amp. I did big 3 and have a duralast battery from autozone

My voltage drops to high 11s at full tilt. Amps set with DD-1.
