Sheena
from the sounds of it.. a dc sub will probably be out of your price range.. if you want it set up right, you're going to spend about $500+ just fyi. if your low on funds like you say you are, stick with what you got until you can either.. A ) buy another alpine and wire in parallel/parallel (amp sees 1 ohm load) and purchase 1/0 and a 150 amp fuse. B ) buy a dc 15" dual 2, wired in parallel (amp sees 1 ohm load) and purchase 1/0 and a 150 amp fuse. Nikitaaa
Just make sure the wire you buy is OFC and NOT CCA. good luck with the build bro. Indeed I will! I'll look and see if I can find something on weldingsupply.com right now. Hmmm maybe i'll start a build log Quote 2007 M/T Honda Civic Coupe EX (4) Sundown Audio X-8's (2) Ampere Audio 3800.1's (3) Stinger SPV-44 Batteries (1) Mechman 240 3:1 Ratio 4th order sealed from the trunkTEAM NWSPLBest termlab scores to date in Honda trunk:151.7db legal (official) IASCA trunk 3 classBest termlab scores to date in my walled Subie:152.9db legal (unofficial) IASCA advanced 2 class155db outlaw

Most likely, option a would get quite a bit louder though. I just build the current box for my single 15 and don't have the sufficient space/tools to build another box, especially a larger one at that. I'm thinking buy my welding wire, and acquire a nice sub woofer in the f/s section. Should I do this, or wait until I can build a new box? (This is also the more expensive option) Quote 2007 M/T Honda Civic Coupe EX (4) Sundown Audio X-8's (2) Ampere Audio 3800.1's (3) Stinger SPV-44 Batteries (1) Mechman 240 3:1 Ratio 4th order sealed from the trunkTEAM NWSPLBest termlab scores to date in Honda trunk:151.7db legal (official) IASCA trunk 3 classBest termlab scores to date in my walled Subie:152.9db legal (unofficial) IASCA advanced 2 class155db outlaw
C-Fizzy
Just remember that there other great brands out there besides DC. some people make it seem like DC subs are built with fucking spl dust or something in them that makes them the best subs on the market. Lol. Quote under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy?
Sheena
you will have to build a new box anyways 4 cu ft is way too big for a dc 15", especially if its taking 1700. (i havent specified what level DC you would be getting because its not my money, or my build.) Still to large? Lol. I feel you bro. Any recommendations? The only reason i'm rocking the type r's right now is because they're $209 on sonic and a hell of a sub for the price. Sheena
oh, idk.. when people state their cu ft, its widely accepted that, that is their net cu ft. net cu ft is after port, sub displacement, and bracing is taken into account.. so when you say 4 cu ft, that means your box, with subs, bracing and port is 4 cu ft.. you will probably try a few boxes, everyone does. you can try 3.5 cu ft, 3.25 cu ft, 3 cu ft.
