Nikitaaa
Hello everyone! NEW PICTURES ON PAGE 3!! I have a 2003 Subaru Outback. The low end equipment I currently have installed is; 1 Alpine Type R 15 (D4), Hifonics Brutus brz1700.1d @2 ohms, Auxiliary Stinger battery, Stinger and Rockford 4 gauge with big 2 done, and a 4 cubic ft box tuned to 35hz. I'm thinking about adding another run of 4 gauge to save myself the cost of buying 0/1 as i'm very low in funds. How would I go about with fusing? Right now, I have a 100 amp fuse between the batteries, and a 150 amp fuse between the second battery and stock alt. I can take pictures if needed.. Thanks! C-Fizzy
No need to add another run of 4 gauge. Just buy 1/0 when you have the money. Sheena
the BRZ1700 calls for a 160 amp fuse. your running 2 ohm, so honestly you could throw a 150 ANL on it and call it a day. and like C fizzy said, get the 1/0 if your going to be doing any upgrading. and for now your really fine with the 4 gauge. BRZ1700.1 only accepts 2 gauge anyways Edited December 29, 2011 by Sheena Quote 09 Civic EX KDC-X395 (2) SKAR Audio VVX-12 Skar Audio SK-1500.1 4 cu ft @32 (new box and more port soon) Firing Forward not sealed off Stock 80 Amp Alt Big 3 In 1/0 Knu 2 Runs To The Back 1 Pos 1 Neg In 1/0 Knu DD-1'd 13.8v drop
ChevyBoy95
the current/wattage your pulling at 2ohms is fine for 4ga (~1000 watts rms), no point in upgrading wire unless you run it at 1 ohm on a different sub or upgrade amps altogether. just save your money. Well, this is my dilemma.. I'm planning on upgrading sub woofers to get full potential out of my Brutus @ 1 ohm. At the moment my only options are add another D4 15 to get a final impedance of 1 ohm. Or, buy a better 15 and wire it in series. I know the 2 15's will get louder, but a quality DC sub woofer might somehow compete. I'm just getting my electrical set up before I make a sub decision (Which I am pondering as well). Nikitaaa
If you want to get your electrical setup correctly, then purchase 1/0. Thank you sir. Would welding wire accommodate the task? My budget is $400 dollars for wire and another subwoofer/ box if need be by the way. C-Fizzy
Welding wire is what I use. But check out the for sale section on here. A lot of people sell old wire for cheapz. If you can't find anything here, look up "coppercableman" on eBay. He sells 1/0 for ~$3 a foot. (a good price btw) Quote under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy?
