Audio-Concepts
I am going to be installing my amp and sub in the next couple weeks, but am a little confused on what size(s) of batteries(s) I should run in the car. The car is a 1998 Mercury Sable, I have already done the big 3 setup in 2/0, but keep thinking that when I go to run almost full power the voltage is gonna plummet! My factory alt is 135 amp, which upon research should be good with 1000-1500rms which I will be running. I also am running 1/0 towards the amp, then into a 1/0 to 4 gauge adapters in the amp. So my question is should I buy an underhood battery that is stout, or could I just run a smaller secondary next to the enclosure. Thanks guys, been pondering this for a while! michigancapri92
Both would work really I personally would add a second battery to the back because I like the short runs if wire from battery to amp Teamcapri.comThe TeamCapri 1992 Mercury Capri XR22012 FORD EDGE SQ BUILDOld build logMy FeedBack1992 Mercury capri XR2 Hyper LED

blackrosetiger
Personally Id up grade underhood AND get a second battery just to be on the safe side. Either way you do it you're going to have voltage drop from your alt to the rear. Having a battery in back will just minimize it. 1998 Plymouth Voyager (daily) Jensen VM9213 H.U.
