Help with subs and amps

Hello, Fellow audioheads

I am about to acquire an Audiopipe ap1500d amp in a trade. I am wondering how much TRUE RMS I can get out of it.

I am also looking to buy a nice set of cheap subs. (College Budget)

Crunch GPV12D4's are rated at 600RMS.

Visonik V128D4's are rated at 750RMS.

Can either of these subs actually handle what's listed? And if so, from experience how much?

Any help and or info. would be greatly appreciated.

for your first question check out fecupe2001 1500watt amp challenge in amp section. he tests various amps and tests the amp you have and if i recall correctly gets 1800rms out of it clean at 1 ohm but subs were wired to .5 ohm and he has excellent electrical to back it up. but a good amp none the less check out that post. and as far as subs goes i am not familiar with those subs at all. I too am in college and always looking to go cheap but if you go to cheap you may need to spend again if it blows or is crappy or not sound good. what is your budget for subs only and do you need box. or just what can you afford on subs only?

Ok is (fecupe2001)a member of this forum? And thank you, I will definitely look into it. My electrical is bone stock, so I'm sure my number will be significantly smaller. Your point is very true about the cheap method though. About the subs, ehhh.. I read a lot of reviews, which I don't trust. I do need a box as well as subs. I had a system in my older car, but I blew the amp and sold 2 of the subs. The 4-12"box will not fit in my Taurus so that and my two subs are apart of a deal that should transpire this week. My budget isn't set in stone. When I return to school I can resume working. My thoughts were to spend no more than $175-$200 on subs and box. But the more I think about it, I know I won't be satisfied with a "walmart thud". So I may continue to save and work my budget to around $300-$350. I'm active on craigslist and searching everyday so I'm hoping for a good deal on something good. There just isn't much to pull from in my area.

Hey thanks. That looks quite reasonable and the subs remind me of Incriminator Audio and American Bass (cones). Do you know of these subs to be durable/reliable?

I've done a bit of researching/searches on the subs & I can't disagree. I will definitely be aiming to purchase these. But S&H is a (female dog)
