OrangeJuiced
What all is going in the center console? I was thinking you could section off the back from the rest of the console, then cut out a window, so to speak, on the top, and sides, and have grill inserts there. It would be pretty open with exception of the edges but the grill inserts will allow air flow and hiding as well. Make sense? I'm going to try and squeeze in 2 7" LCD screens, switch box, cup holders and a compartment. We'll see how it goes. I think I can do it and make it look good as well. If not, I just made a box for a friend and he gave me enough for 2 more sheets of MDF. Going to make this perfect in my eyes. Anyways I think I understand what you're saying. I was thinking of cutting a quarter of a circle out of the back, then add a frame to the back and it will be wrapped in the cloth. like this. The red will be sectioned out and the blue will be a slim frame that is fiberglassed to the console. The console will remain one piece. and the frame will have speaker grill cloth to cover the hole, but let sound out. What do you think? If you comprehend. 2001 GMC Sierra Build. scooter99
I comprehend, I like it, that's pretty close to the same concept I was thinking of. I say go for it! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
revoracing247
this is just my 2¢ but i think doing it like this would function better and flow better with the console. either way can't wait for more updates! OrangeJuiced
I will. It will probably have the same curve as the front so it should definitely flow together. 2001 GMC Sierra Build. Body dropped and Juiced
scooter99
As long as it's curved and not square I think it will flow well, for looks and for sound. I have a feeling that if it's squared up, it'll effect sound. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
OrangeJuiced
Here's some really good news. My neighbor is coming over tomorrow after work and we're welding the brackets on! I'm excited! Even better news, if I can get the bed on the truck, I'll take Thursday off of school and get her all back together and shined up for senior pictures. My senior pics are at 2 on Thursday so it will feel like a sema build getting her altogether. Tomorrow in shop class I'm going to cut some 3/16 plating to go on the frame. It will make less stress on the frame by having more surface area. Lets hope she's back together by Thursday. If not, the weekend. 2001 GMC Sierra Build. OrangeJuiced
Disappointing update Long story short, brackets didn't get welded tonight. I keep saying this, but HOPEFULLY reassembly starts this weekend. While I was in the garage, I did run some new frame grounds. I also ordered some scrap aluminum to make my own distribution blocks. These will be drilled, tapped and polished. Thoughts on my soldering? Not sure what is exceptional or not. I guess iphones quality isnt that great and its hard to see the soldered lug. 2001 GMC Sierra Build. Body dropped and Juiced
