Help a 17 yr old BassHead?

so i recently got a 03 Ford Explorer. I'm 17 so this is a badass ride for me i really enjoy it. I'm a true basshead when i got my first vehicle (a Mustang) i saved up for months to buy 2 new Jl audio W0 15's.. they wasn't enough and i got rid of them and now i'm getting my hands on 2 FI Sp4 18's. My box will 12 cubic feet. But a need a few recommendations on some things like.. how big should my port be? And whats the best amp for my money.. i cannot afford a RF t2000 so yeah.. i was thinking Powerbass XA 4000 amp but idk.. i need suggestions

for the port go download torres box calculator, and for the amp check out AQ, Sundown, DC, and Soundigital, they should have something for you

going from W0's to SP4's is a HUGE fucking gap, im not even kidding, its a whole other ballpark. your questions about which amp to buy and how big the port should be lead me to believe you dont know a lot about stereos. knowing this, you more than likely will fuck something up in the install which can cause something (or everything) to blow/mess up. step it down a notch on the woofers. if you want to power 2 sp4's correctly, you would need a grand just in the electrical and almost another grand in amps. not to mention the mids and highs you'd need to keep up with them and the amps to go along with those. you're in way over your head man. stick reading to the forum for a few months to gain knowledge then you'll be much better off

do you understand the caliber of the subs you're buying? and the electrical upgrades needed to run rated power to those subs while maintaining good voltage? i'd look into a smaller system if I were you, but good amps are AQ, DC, Crescendo, hifonics brutus (budget), Sundown, Rockford, the list goes on and one.

edit: damn ninja'd, but if you're stuck on 18's look into some Fi Q's or SSD's, maybe the obsidian 18's, will be a lot louder than the JL's and you don't need to spend a bunch of money on electrical upgrades.

As for money.. i have a job pulling in about $400 every 2 weeks and being in highschool living with my parents i have no bills.. just gas money i use so i planned on looking into all the electrical shit to go a long with that and tbh have been looking at stuff for awhile into.. man all i want to do is be able to hair tricks and its been my dream ever since i was 15 with my first set of 12's to have atleast 2 18's.. and i finally got enough to get them. and will wait till i have enough to upgrade everything else. if someone would be kind enough to help

As for money.. i have a job pulling in about $400 every 2 weeks and being in highschool living with my parents i have no bills.. just gas money i use so i planned on looking into all the electrical shit to go a long with that and tbh have been looking at stuff for awhile into.. man all i want to do is be able to hair tricks and its been my dream ever since i was 15 with my first set of 12's to have atleast 2 18's.. and i finally got enough to get them. and will wait till i have enough to upgrade everything else. if someone would be kind enough to help

doesnt matter how much money you have. if you fuck up even the most minor thing in the install, your car can burn to the ground. you installed like 300w woofers and you automatically want to jump into something that has 20 times as much power. its like starting out riding on a big wheel then jumping up to a mountain bike. you just dont do that.

dont become a stubborn headed member, saying something like "i can do it, dont worry" or "i know X person and they have X years experience so they can help me", because then no one will be willing to help you in the future. if someone tells you dont do it, dont fucking do it. they're watching out for your safety and well being and making sure you dont lose all the brand new stuff you bought that we advised you not to get. then we sit and wait while said member who didnt listen comes back complaining that his stuff burned up and thats when we just point and laugh. DONT become that guy.

I have seen hair tricks with 2 Skar vvx 12s on a hifonics brz 1200.1d..and it wasn't 2k worth of electrical upgrades...its all about the setup

lol ok man.. i will admit i don't have the personal experience. i mean im not retarded i know how to run a system.. but ur right on all the voltage coming from my alt. and blah blah shit i have no idea about. i could use some info on that.. if you could just point my in the right direction in gaining all the knowledge i need to know.. i promise you i could atleast have the knowledge maybe not the experience to pull it off correctly if its as hard as you make it seem.. but i tend to pick up on stuff fairly quick.
