IBleedMusick
I drive a 2005 Honda Civic LX coupe with automatic transmission and for the past couple of weeks there has been a noise coming from my transmission where I switch gears. It only happens when I am sitting in park and even weirder if I am in park and rev up to about 1800rpm it starts happening continuously. It is a clicking noise but what the hell can it be? JEMT8
Check your fluid level first and foremost if you haven't already Quote formerly known as Jaylor Swift
HatersGonnaHate
X2 But if fluid level is good, I'd still drain the trans and put a fresh filter and fluid in there. I'm not sure if you can drop the pan on those though, so you might only be able to change the fluid. IBleedMusick
What does my worst case scenario look like. I am going to take it to my shop today and my & I will check the fluids but I want to be ready for anything that could turn costly. HatersGonnaHate
Check ball is stuck. Torque converter going bad.....but that shouldn't make noise in park. Worst worst worst case scenario is dropping around 2 grand on a transmission and labor. jworley83
I also have an 02 automatic and from what i hear our generation civics have horrible automatic transmissions and a lot of the times they need to be replaced around 80 100k
