carshateme Posted May 12, 2012 Author Report Posted May 12, 2012 Heres my new box..Got it done within a week. Had a few problems...but it all got solved. All birchwood except for the sub cutout...which was one of the problems we ran into. 3 coats of primer, 7 coats of paint. First time doing a logo by hand...doesn't look to shabby..box sounds great. Have to break in one of the subs...so I'll have a demo clip up in a week or so. The whole interior box is fiberglassed and resin... that's why it looks so dark. Was suppose to be flush mounted...but that didn't happen...measured the center in the wrong place...and screwed it up...so it ended up being just a regular double baffle. Yes, I got picky and put the screws exactly 3in apart from the other screws...thus why I have a lot of screws. Got the resin...went to town Bottom of the box when we put the port on. How it looked before we put the top on. The resin I used...$11...not bad.. My boy and I. I'm on the left. He's on the right. Finished the construction. Onward to the paint I was getting impatience so I stopped taking pictures and slapped 3 coats of primer on the box...took over 3 hrs. But here's what it looked like after 7 coats of blue paint and dc logo. Ran into the problem with the router cutout...just noticed that it was over cut by 1/2"...was mad...ending up smoking my full pack of cigs and got drunk. Had some spare MDF laying around so I got started on it (being drunk) Next morning, got that shit on and glued down. How the box looks with these bad ass DCs in em. (Horrible picture, I know, I'll get a better one later.) New build coming soon. Put some giant screw rods in the box so I'll be able to wire it to either .5 ohms or 2 ohms, wired at .5 ohms currently. AMP is taking it like a champ My new DB drive A7 Okur 2000.1 Amplifier (not the cheap POS mexican made amp) Carpet is torn out, getting ready to seal it all, and put new carpet down. My new Excessive Amperage 200a alternator Sits at 15.8volts Been slacking, ran into a bit of a tie, had to put off my car audio project for a few months..now I'm starting back up. Had my subs tested on a SPL lab, hit 143.6dBs on music at 1/2 tilt (opened)...didn't want to turn it all the way up New build coming soon.
