kingleo Posted January 8, 2012 Report Share Posted January 8, 2012 Ok I'm getting back into the import scene, and I got a 99 ej8 with a b16a2 swap. It has a head gasket oil leak, no cooling issues, just oil. That will be changed in the next week. But I'm having an issue that pops up every so often. While I'm driving the best way to describe it is the car dies ( does not turn off) then if I floor the gas it will come to life and it will do it again for a while then drive normal. Also while it's dying if I get off the gas then back on it will continue to accelerate. I haven't been able to replicate this while not in gear, as when it dies I can hit the clutch and rev the engine freely. This engine has seen injector work and possibly head work. I'm thinking the stock si ecu that its running isn't up to task. Any ideas?
