Ilovebass, dont worry about thread jack, most my questions have been answered haha.

The comp ive entered is a db drag and its 30sec peak hold. So is it safe to say i ahould find a song that goes across different freqso it juggles around my peak?

I spoke to the guys running comp, the said to come early with a test cd and find my peak, then ill have a bank of songs lableled by the the max and min peaks and play a song from there.

Ia that a reasonable plan?

I would think you want to find tracks that have constant bass in your freq. Sweet spot to fill the 30seconds...

I would do it by either sweeps or test tones, and have a bunch o songs/CDs with you for different frequencys.. Find your freq and use a track that has majority that frequency..

Now I'm not positive on this.... but a Long bass note will actually build more pressure in the cabin and bring your score up more so than a quicker note that hits hard... As long as your voltage doesn't drop... But I may be wrong on that one

Laying frame soon.. System has to wait

What dbDrag class is 30 seconds peak hold? You sure he doesn't mean you have 30 seconds to meter and your loudest score at the end is your score? That would make more sense...

So you could burp and then try another freq and another one, but your loudest score is what will stay on the screen = peak hold

Also make sure your batt(s) are fully charged, so no demo's before you plan to meter and let the car run for a while. Also you can rev the motor to 1900RPM while metering which should give you a little more voltage.

Dbdrag is a burp...... you have 30sec to do it in... please don't play a tone for 30sec... more like 3 secs max.... sweep doesn't find my peak for me... borrow the dbdrag test disc.. start ay 30 hz and say half volume. Don't touch gas peddle or any settings ask to put the tl on peak hold. Play the track for 4 to 6 secs then move to the next one. So you start at 30hz then advance to say 65hz 1 freq at a time... what kind of car do you have? This way will give you a general idea of what you peak at....when you burp start the track at low volume then roll the volume up to
