I was at another topic and found just about the same thing and found that they use a lot of port area in spl situations, to be loud at a freq and that the less the port area the better sound quality. I dont know for sure but one thing I know for sure is that if there is too little port area you get "port noise" which can be annoying.

Which I guess is why they say at least 12 sq in per cu ft for slot ports :good:

ok i measured my trunk and everything and found out that 33 will not fit nicely. so i went down to 32.5" width x 15"high x 25"deep and got 21" of port length for about 35.36hz with 13.7in of port area per foot.

ok i measured my trunk and everything and found out that 33 will not fit nicely. so i went down to 32.5" width x 15"high x 25"deep and got 21" of port length for about 35.36hz with 13.7in of port area per foot. 4.41 net volume
