lagexe
Which would be louder, or would it be the same? 2 Subs on 2 separate amps wired to 1ohm a piece: OR 2 Subs on the same amp still wired to 1ohm: Edited January 14, 2012 by lagexe

TeamHT
If you are looking at two 1,000 watt amps...then you are looking at 2,000 altogether. Two subs to the same amp would be 1,000 watts, 500 watts a piece. Not equal power at all. Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? lagexe
I bought 1 SSD 15 with dual-1ohm. I wish now I had bought the dual-2. I'm wondering if I get a second, and wire them to 1ohm if I would get more spl out of my amp. I'm 2ohm right now (dual-1 in series), if I got a second I can get 1ohm, and I'm THINKING it would be noticeably louder.

Two subs to the same amp would be 1,000 watts, 500 watts a piece. Not equal power at all. Even if wired to 1ohm? Does 2 loads (subs) cut the power (watts) in half? Even still would I get more spl if I went with 2 Dual-1 wired to 1ohm? Right now I'm getting 750watts, if I'm correct I'll either get 2 subs doing 750watts instead of one. However, if my original thought was correct, I would get 2subs doing 1500watts. <--- That is likely wishful thinking.
TeamHT
SSD is beast and like many great FI/AA products...grossly underrated. If you truly want something beast, I would sell the amp for a larger amp and then run two D1s to a 1 ohm nominal to the amp. Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? The site says 1000rms.
