Winn
how to add bass to songs like decaf and bigpimpin. I was really wanting to learn how to make nice unclipped loud demo songs and other songs. But i have no clue how to do it. I have no clue what amplitude to set the frequencys, how to add any of that. Just want to learn anyone know where? Quote You know how you avoid that? Man the fuck up and bang her best friend sister mom cousin worst enemy and never look back. Decaf
for audacity highlight the part in the song that u want the note in, be precise with timing... you will notice the timing being off easily once in car with a sub keep in mind you do not want anything in the song below ~80hz otherwise it will clip when the sine wave is added. you can either only choose songs with that stipulation or you can HPF at 80hz. things like kick drums cannot be mixed easily with a sine wave without the sine wave being very quiet now go to add new track, generate sine wave, enter the frequency you want and start with amplitude at -.5 (you will have to mess with that number to make sure once u apply next time you dont clip) now play both tracks so u can hear the sine wave on top of the song, now look in the upper right and make sure the green bars didn't turn red from adding the bass, you want the dark blue to show up so you know its as loud as possible without clipping. if it did clip, you need to use a quieter sine wave, or the song is not a good candidate for adding bass because the mids/highs take up too much space as it is this is where the eq comes in, its pretty much an infinite band eq on audacity only limited by your screen size, allowing you to quiet the notes getting in the way. its not easy, its not quick, but after some trial and error you should get the hang of it. fruity loops is a whole different beast. it can be easier if you are musically inclined already because you can use the piano roll to create notes. its also easier to time because it shows you the separation of beats. for what i do, audacity is the easier interface and quicker... if you want to create your own music fruity loops is very limitless (its what pimpn uses) even tho you know that process, its still not easy, nor did i explain everything, but its enough to get started Edited January 14, 2012 by Decaf
