A good set of components will sound worlds better than a set of 3 or 4-ways wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 . I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt

I thought you were looking for peeps to suggest them and give opinions on what was best. 4-way speakers are a style of coaxial speakers (mounted together as one speaker, literally "on the same axis") that are comprised of 4 individual speakers. Generally, they use a woofer, a midrange, a tweeter, and a supertweeter. In theory, it's great having more speakers. In reality, because they are all mounted together rather than separated they don't create a very good sound stage. All the sound is clearly coming from one spot and the overall sound quality is not as high. By using a component set you separate the woofer and tweeter and provide better staging for your mids and highs. You're also given a crossover which dedicates the woofer to the lows/mids and the tweeter to the highs. A good set of 2-way components will blow any coaxials out of the water, even the 3-way or 4-ways. Components generally run as 5.25", 6", or 6.5", though other sizes are available. Do keep in mind that you'll need a spot to mount the crossover and the separate tweeter as well if you plan on running them. wtf is lolcats?
