MIKE-2U Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 Just got a component set of rainbows. On the bottom of the drive it says 60 watts rms 80 peak. i dont know about the tweeter. I want to know if its ok to over power them and by how much. The Midget Looks Into Your Soul 2008 Dodge am 3500HD with the 6.7 Cummins Race Me tuner, dpf deleted kenwood double din cheap walmart speakers for now(infinity reference comps comps coming soon) 2 kicker L5's in a ported box of unknown tuning lol(soon to be changed) Power acoustic 1500.1 on the subs (for now)

ALPINE408 Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 lmao!!! alot of people say that but its true if you have to ask DO NOT DO IT!!!! even more so on mids and highs EVEN MORE SO ON THE RAINBOWS do not look at peak give them rms or those speakers will blow!!! not saying there not good speakers cause my team mate had some and they sounded great but they do not un rate there speakers if it says 60 watts rms its 60 watts! not 61 or 70 60 watts! Have you ever had your woofers blown?

What series Rainbow are they? negative ghost wrighter skittles had a pair he was a lil over powering them it was fine untill one day he gave a demo forgot to change his settings 2 seconds later his mids sounded like a slinky un raviled Voice Coil anyone? Have you ever had your woofers blown?
