2k1 EM2 Civic >> PaCiFiKbAllA'z Update >>Wolfram Audio 4500.1 >>Singer 250A Alt>>Fi Audio SP4 V2 12" D2 FULLY LOADED!!

Recommended Posts

Just got done messing around with it. The washers that Mike provided, I was short 2. With what he provided the top was not snug and there was some play up there. No big deal, I found an extra washer, put it in, still just the smallest enough of wiggle and we can't be having that. So I found another washer, but it just won't fit in there...it's too wide.

ANYWAYS, lol, I used the bushing (stainless) one Mike provided and I found another bushing and washer laying around that works. No wiggle now and it's nice and snug.

I do have to extend the factory power cable that runs along the top right side down to the charge stud on the alt. I'm short roughly 2-3". Small issue but I'll get it done...I guess that's a small price to pay for a big high output alternator. Will update in a few.

Got the oem power cable extended via a 0 gauge wire nut and 4 gauge power wire and professionally taped with electrical tape. Imma end up getting a barrel connector to keep that cable straight.

For those of you who have an 01-05 Civic and are wondering like myself WHICH serpentine belt to get, it is 4060380/5060380 depending on the manufacturer. Mine was a Goodyear Gatorback part no. 4060380 and it is the PERFECT size for a high output alt in our EM2. Not much tension to add to it either. Imma edit this post with a few pics of the oem cable extended and the Singer 250A fully installed once my lady gets home. Almost there....almost there =)

Ahh mother effect....all hooked up and it's not charging..batt is resting at 12.6 and when turned on the alt is reading 12.00 or 12.04....it might be the ELD bypass he sent me....if I disconnect it, it may start charging..ill wait for Mike to get back to me. I'm anxious! I wanted to test that mofo out on the way to the store lol

Just did a quick alt test. Idling charges at 14.7 and still maintains 14.4 with all accessories on. Headlights, fog lights, a/c full blast and rear defrost on. I am a VERY happy camper right now =)

So I'm making a decision to get my internal volume cut down quite a bit. Scooter99 is doing something similar with his enclosure using Great Stuff foam. I have 2 cans and was thinking about making foam 2x4s I can tack in the box until I get the desired volume/sound.

I don't have a vehicle to get a sheet of mdf, however I can get 2x4's precut from Home Depot. I do know that a big enclosure requires less power, so with that said, I want to maximize power output from the amp to the sub. I basically want to go from 4.2cu to 2.2-2.5cu. Now, since I would reduce internal volume, would that mean I would need to extend the port length (I have (3) 4" ports that are 12.75" long each) to achieve the same tuning or close to it?

I do have the Torres calculator on my PC I can use to get an idea. Any suggestions?
