Twigz
hey, the p3's the old ones, their gray, their specs are 1000 @ 1 ohm so thats 500 rms each. my amp is modded with a capacitor that boosts it's rms to 3000 @ 1 ohm. 2000 @ 2 ohm. 1000 @ 4 ohm. My subs are wired @ 2 ohm right now, so when I hook up the amp it's gonna read a 2 ohm load, so the subs will be getting 2000 rms but their not at 1 ohm they'll be at 2. My question is, can the P3's handle it, i don't have a battery so I doubt i'll be pushing 2000 rms not 2 mention a decent alt, my main concern is, if I put the gain all the way down, will I be safe at 2 ohm, or should I set them to 4 ohm?. the amp is a MMATS DHC 1400.1 Modded. i'm running 4-gauge wire in a 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier. dmanson
i'd be very careful with putting that much juice on those subs or you can kiss them good buy. i'd say add another two P3s and make it four or just upgrade the P3s to the RF power series or any other brand that'll handle all that juice 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. WickedToys1
you can blow them up but not because of over powering them but because of your amp clipping due to low voltage. one of my buddies had 1600 watts rms running to each of his and he had no problems. http://www.DCSOUNDLAB.com/01 Chevy Silverado X-CabPioneer 4900 in Dash3 Stinger 2150'sIraggi 260 amp Alt.1/0 Stinger Wiring(2) DC lvl 5 18's(2) Hifonics Cyclops10 cu box tuned to 27hz
